Howdy all,

My mate and I are arriving in Saintiago on the 31st and have no idea where to stay and party on NYE!

We are only looking to stay for a couple of days and really just need a place to lock up our stuff and do very little sleeping :)

So any suggestions of where to stay and party would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Warren

I have read elsewhere that Valparaiso is the place to be for NYE. Only a couple of hours away, on the coast and has a massive fireworks display and big party. Haven't been though, was just looking for places to go myself for NYE.

In Santiago I stayed in Casa Roja. It was pretty decent. Bit noisy with all the old wooden floors, but then if you don't plan on doing much sleeping then should be fine!!

Hello!!
If you go to chile for NYE you must go to Valparaíso(an UNESCO Heritage Site), where there is the biggest celebrations with fireworks in Southamerica, also there are lots of parties in this city that you would really like to go, with a variety of ages and atmospheres, being the bohemian the most typical. Valparaiso is united to the city of Viña del Mar, a tourist complex that you must visit bacuse of their tourist beaches and places to go, like Reñaca, muelle vergara, city center, etc. Both cities recieves tourist from everywhere, especially from Argentna and Brazil, being secure cities for visitors(maybe Valparaiso a litle less), but anyway you have to be carefull. After the visit of these cities you can go back to Santiago, that it has lots of history and things to do.

Valparaíso and Viña del Mar are only 2 hours from Santiago, and you can buy a ticket to go by bus from approximately 4 dollars per person, or rent a car.

I hope you have an excellent travelling in Chile. Here there are some links that can help you.

Greetings.
