Taking a trip to the Peninsula de Osa on the southern most Pacific coast of Costa Rica
in a few weeks. On my last trip I did the drive down the coast road (34) from Jaco.
This time I am considering taking the Pan Am highway from San Jose to Chacarita at
the base of the Osa. Has anyon made this drive? What was the raod like? About how
long is the drive if conditions and traffic are favorable? Any particular points of
interest along the way?
I have only been to the Osa once before. My main objective is surfing the point at
Matapalo. Any other advice would be very welcome.
Was in Costa Rica over Christmas and loved it.... we only caught a few kms of the pan am but it was the best road in Costa Rica we were on. Definitely the best one to drive on road wise although view or surroundings wise it is not as spectacular as some of the roads in the middle of nowhere...
I am not really into surfing but we spent a great week in Montezuma where the waves seemed pretty decent although it was more your body board experience. That was the highlight of my time there although coming to think of it there were quite a few highlights....strange how that goes.
Thanks for the good word Sam. I will enjoy for sure.
