Without a single doubt your laptop.

Never, ever do online banking at internet cafes. It can go right, of course - and in fact often does, simply because of the amount of internet cafes out there - but the security of a system that thousands of people have access to is completely non-existent, and the amount of people running internet cafes with the technical expertise to lock the computers down in such a way that it's hard to install keyloggers on them is not statistically significant.

If you don't bring a laptop, have someone trusted at home do internet banking for you, or simply do without. Book tickets at real world travel agencies. But do not trust public computers.

Thank you Sander.

I agree with you. I think that I will try taking a really small (less than 3 lbs, 1.4Kg Computer. I would not like to have an identity theft going on while i am travelling.

If it turns out to be impractical, i will simply give my passwords to a friend as you suggested. Thanks for your suggestion.

Just want to ask same question sorry.
If I have laptop and don't want to go from one hotel to an other one to be languid with the heat in Thailand asking the question: "can I connect my laptop in the room?" so it may be better to contact with the hotels directly before trip. Sorry I did not find any options to call them from example (from the forum's pages).
How can I look at the hotel with internet in the room?
It is written that some of the hotels are providing free internet ...How to be sure about it before flying by plane?

Hi, i've got a question. I need to take my laptop around on my travels with me because I run a website - is there any hardware or software that I need to take with me to connect to the internet? Or can I just go into internet cafe's and plug in there? Thanks :)

Most internet caf├ęs (not all; some are incredibly backward and don't allow laptops) will have an empty space with an ethernet cable and a power outlet - which should be all you need. I usually bring an extra ethernet cable, though; you never know when that might come in handy.
Make certain you only use encrypted ways (SSH, https, SFTP) to perform tasks on your website (and thus to have putty (or other favorite ssh client of choice) installed); the risk of your log in details being sniffed is much higher in semi-public places like an internet cafe.
