I am going to turkey on april 2007 and I would love to know about the visa formalities. I am canadian and holder of a canadian passport. I am going to visit the country for pleasure and for the culture. I will be staying there for approximately 10 days.
Thank you for your help!!!
You should contact with either the Canadian Foreign Affaires, or the Canadian Turkish Embassy to get up-to-date and exact information.
Earlier this year I was in Turkey, and even as an EU citizen had to pay for visa - though it was just a formality: no prior arrangements, could be bought at the airport upon arrival.
According to a visa/passport site I usually use to check details, the current information for a Canadian citizen/passport holder is:
Passport (valid for the period of intended stay) required.
Visa required, which can be obtained on arrival for a max.
stay of 3 months with multiple entries.
Fee: EUR 45.- or USD 60.-.
Visitor must be of clean appearance and hold:
- return/onward tickets; and
- documents for next destination; and
- sufficient funds.
Visitor must report to Immigration Police if exceeding period
of allowed stay.
thank you very much for the information. knowing that I can purchase the visa when i arrive there makes me feel better. I would definitely call the turkish embassy in Ottawa for more informations (just to be sure). Also, it costs less expensive to buy the visa in turkey than here in canada.
So I'll be set then.. i HAVE all the proofs needed to get it easily..
Thanks once again...
