I have decided to fly to Beijing at the end of March, then to travel by land to singapore, and then to Oz to work for a year. Then from there I am not sure yet.
I was just wondering would it be best to buy flights before I go or to take it as it comes and buy my flights as I travel as this would give me total flexibility.
Also would this work out cheaper? or around the same price?
Any advise and tips would be great.
I've gone for the pay-as-you-go option and so far, I'm really pleased I made that decision. For a start, my flight was GBP400 (return to Bangkok) and the Asia/Aus tickets were over 1000. Plus, so far I've done most of my travelling overland which is so cheap in Asia. Flights out of Singapore are pretty cheap anyway. It may work out more expensive if you do fly a lot, but in my opinion, it's worth it just to know you are not tied down by dates and having to pay a fortune to change flights etc.
Thanks for the advise claire, will probably do that then. Just hope that booking flights while I'm over there wont be a problem.
It's actually really easy, I'm also on the pay as you go plan and have only been shut out of the dates I wanted or by prices a couple of times.
