hi guys, just wanting a bit of advice about time scales and budgets for these places, i'm planning on working for a while in canada (whistler) and australia, just need some guidance on how long i'll need in the different places to get the best experience.
my trip will be:- manchester (uk)- vancouver
road trip to los angeles
LA to new zealand
new zealand to australia
australia to thailand
thailand to manchester
Time depends on what you want to experience really. Me personaly,I like to have a fare bit of time on my hands so you don`t need to rush around too much. NZ at least 7 weeks, spend most time on the south island.Try to go in summer, camping is super in nz, rather cheap rental cars avalable. Aussi, massive country so up to you, where do you want to go....Thailand a month will do but once there you should visit Laos as well I think, maybe try Cambodja and Vietnam as well. Thailand was the least exciting for me out of these countries. Asia is cheap so you might as well make the most out of it. Def go to Laos, very nice people and at last you feal you are of the beaten track (if you do decide to travel around a bit)
cheers, you recon we would be best flying into sidney or melbourne, just wandering which is better for finding accomodation and getting settled into aus? we are gonna travel full circle round the east coast and as far in as alice springs so it doesn't matter where we start because we'll be going to both, just for availability of hostels, as it will be mid december when we get there and i've heard it gets really busy around that time.
