Hi Folks,
I'm going to Namibia next week and was wondering what tips you had for keeping dust out of my Nikon D80? I'm only going to be taking one lens (18-200mm) which will stay attached to the camera the whole time....but I'm still worried about it because I keep reading how prone the sensor is to dust.

Also, do I need one of those £8 plastic air blower things and a sensor brush?

And where can I get a decent plain camera strap from? :)

Any advice much appreciated!

hi jonny,
best thing what you can do is put your camara in a ziplog bag, take it out only if you are sure that you take fotos.
I do this everytime when I take the camera with me,because where I live I have Sand and Salt in the Air,both cillers for a camera.
Look for ziplog bags with a slider on the opening, the are easyer
to open and close, the normal ones like deepfreezer ziplogs are not so handy.
about a camara strap I would think that you get one at a fotoshop?

Try taking a picture of a neutral, flat surface before you leave, and then again after you return. That way you can compare the two images to find out where any dust may have gotten on your sensor; it will make cloning out the dust spots much easier, since you will be able to find them easier.
