Im thinking of heading into Bolivia from Brazil via Corumba but im concerned with the situation of safety around the border area and also the current situation of safety in Bolivia at the moment??
Would it be better to enter through Argentina? any recomendations?
Safety-wise I don't think you run any risk; both countries to the best of my knowledge are currently as safe as usual, which involves periodical uprises of non-tourist-oriented political violence, but nothing to worry about.
No problem of safety on the Bolivian border with Brasil (Corumbà).
You can enter Bolivia as you want.
Even in Corumbà you can manage some trip in the Pantanal also this time of the year. It will be "hot" but long not so hot as in the Amazon forest. Don't forget to drink, that's the only problem.
In Corumbà you will have the choise of many companies that do this trips. Discuss wel with them and let it clear what is included and what not.
Do the trip in Corumbà, because in the "Gran Chaco" of Paraguai and the part in Bolivia you will have difficulties to find your guides.
Have a nice trip
