Tijuana-PV, is there a bus?
It seems there is no cheap flight from TJ-Puerto Vallarta, so I'm wondering if long distance bus is the way to do it. How long is the trip? And is it scenic?
I've heard the only buses worth booking in Mexico are first or business class buses.
How much would a single fare cost from Tj-PV (if travelling in the day, and if the road isn't scenic, overnight)?
Hi, I'm afraid to tell you the trip by bus is very long, like a day and a half, so if you don't want to spend a lot of money in airplane you can travel little by little, staying one night in the middle of the trip. However, the road is very scenic, you will see a lot of different landscapes. I don't know what's exactly the cost of the trip, but search in internet, there are several prices and they depend on the bus quality. Have a nice trip!
I once took the bus from Las Vegas to Acapulco, and back! Now that was a trip. I suggest taking it in stages. Get to Hermosillo or Guaymas the first day. Then make Mazatlan your next stop. Both Guaymas & Mazatlan are worth a few days for some beach time and exploring. Then on to PV. This is if you have the time. A straight through bus would be a real ordeal, not very high on the fun scale. Good Luck.
That the website for the major bus company in mexico, there are different lines and rides, and prices, but ADO is the parent company for all of them
also try getting a cheap flight from tijuana to guadalajara, that might be probably 1,000 pesos for from cancun to TJ it is 1,200 to 1,500, so try Viajes Liberacion, they have these fares.
also try magnicharters.com, another cheap line.
