Hello Everyone,

I am from India and living in Canada since somewhere 3 years on student visa. I have completed my studies and now I would like to go to UK on Working holidaymakers Visa.

Last year I got married back home and my wife is in India as she is working there.

My questions is if I am married do I have to file UK Working holidaymakers Visa together with my wife or I can do it alone for myself from Canada?

And also what other documents I need to file the uk holiday visa except passport, application form, bank balance ($5,000 canadian is ok??)?

Please help me out. thanx well in advance for your time and consideration.

For details on applying for a UK visa, go to the UKVisas website, then click on "Do I Need A UK Visa?" in the middle of the page - the next page will have 3 drop-down options to suit your scenario. Once you get through that, you will find the relevant information!

Hi mojorob,

Thanx for helping me out, but still I have 1 question which remain unanswered to me even after browsing the website given by you and by my other means.

On http://www.britishhighcommission.gov.uk/servlet/Front?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/ShowPage&c=Page&cid=1109169952537 please refer to "Please Note:" - point 3 which says, "if married or in a civil partnership, your spouse or civil partner must also be eligible and you plan to take the working holiday together"

My question is I am married and my wife is eligible for the working holiday visa but she is living back-home and I am in Canada. In this case can I file my visa alone from Canada?

If yes, then let say if I get visa and I reach UK after that does my wife can apply for dependent visa to uk with my support and can join me there from back-home?

Please suggest,

thanx in advance...

To me, it looks like you should apply together for the working holiday visa (each fill out your own application), and send them together. Which would mean you need to be with her in India.

Then you can fulfill the part about a married couple taking a working holiday together, by arriving together in the UK both with a working holiday visa.

No.

The part you highlighted is the answer to this: "if married or in a civil partnership, your spouse or civil partner must also be eligible and you plan to take the working holiday together".

This means you both need to be on a working holiday visa, taking the working holiday at the same time.
