hi there folks,
i'm off to india in february, booked a mumbai return flight but wanna take a low cost carrier right when i arrive to cochin or trivandrum. looked up fares but there's only 2 fares which are not too expensive and well-scheduled and that's goair and airdeccan. has anyone ever changed terminals in mumbai?- i'd only have like 1hr 40min between the two flights- i doubt i'll make that.
and since you can't pay by credit card on airdeccan anymore, i'm wondering if there's an alternative.
can anyone give me advice on this?
I want to correct you on a few facts.
The Low Cost Carriers and the Premium Airlines
charge the same if you book well in advance. I checked up the websites and found Indian Airlines charges Rs1575 for a trip to Cochin from Mumbai in feb.It cant get cheaper than that.
Try sites like makemytrip.com and yatra.com to get good deals now.
The interesting thing is you can pay by credit card.
If you want to change flights domestically, that can be done in 90 minutes. If you want change flight from a domestic one to an international one or vice versa, pl drop the idea. You will be cutting too close for comfort.

thanks for your advice. i checked the fares but they're only valid for indian residents or foreigners with indian recidency...
the cheapest available for foreigners is 148.2USD and that, from my perspective, is just overpriced.
maybe i'll consider catching a train or do that boat trip to cochin.
if you do have another advice, let me know please.
You are right. The only option seems to be train.Of course buses connect the whole country.
Try INDRAIL passes for trains with which you can travel
in a sector. You also get preferential booking in stations with this
pass. Most stations have exclusive counters for foreighners.
There is no boat service as you had mentioned in the mainland.
