So, when I travel, my thing is to just land somewhere and vedge and get massages everyday, go for walks and catch up on my reading. Any places in Central or South America anyone can reccomend that would be ideal for this?
I have found that I tend to not like the town to be too small, I get a little bored, and that some nature or a few touristy things to do can be nice, but aren't essential... thus far I am leaning towards Costa Rica. Any input appreciated!
There's a resort in Gamboa, Panama that seems ideal for you, "Gamboa Rainforest Resort". It is rather expensive, though.
You can also check:
Sol y Luna Lodge and Spa in Urubamba, Peru
Colonial Iguaçu & Spa in Foz do Iguassu, Brazil
Any of those are very well located, with a wide range of activities to be done.
There are more, may be if you are more specific as regards size of the city, budget, time of the year, etc, etc...I can think of others.
Yeah I forgot to mention budget- I lean towards the medium low to middle budget!
Thanks so much!
then it is for sure not the Gamboa Resort in Panama.
this is a 5 Star Resort in the Gamboa Lake, part of the canal zone, former Military area, very expensiv.
Well, yes, Panama has amazing resorts but tends to be expensive because most of them are 4 or 5 stars properties sorrounded by white sand or unspoiled rainforest, and sometimes all-included.
A better idea if you are looking for budget acommodation is to choose a city first and then check hotel fares in sites like orbitz or kayak. To get a picture.
If your aim is Costa Rica I can't help you, unfortunately I haven't been there (yet!).
The key word is SPA, in Spanish means almost exclusivelly massage, sauna, jacuzzi, and skin treatments.
