We will have about 10 hours in Belfast. I have traveled some in southern Ireland, but not Northern. What would be a good day trip? I think they have a hop on - hop - off bus. Anyone familiar with it? How about a good pub? Good place for lunch? Any chnce of music in the daytime? We're there on a Saturday in September but leave at 7:00 PM (1900) so we'll miss out on the nighttime.
there are plenty of private tours that take you thru the "troubles area" mainly Falls road area. One tour left right from my hostel. Very interesting to see the murals of the soldiers and the wall.
I also took a day trip to the coast to see the Giants Causeway. very cool.
I have done the wall mural bus tour in belfast, it is pretty interesting. As for pubs there are loads in belfast which are good for a pint but i would probably advise the Crown bar opposite Great Victoria St Station. It supposed to be the oldest bar in Belfast, has all the traditional 'snugs' etc and some great food. have fun
