It is a news blog about the prisoner I visit and write to in the Bangkok Hilton.
I was just going to send a Christmas message to his parents through the Foreigner Prisoner Support Service when I found this news.

Hello Mac:)

Yeah, that is unbelievable news. Sometimes people get out but it is very rare. I presume he was innocent since they let him out. He had a hearing hoping they would reduce his sentence from life to 40 years and was very surprised to hear he is being released. I think the Fair Trial Organisation who help people who have not had a fair trial had a lot to do with it. If u google Jody Aggett u will see lots of news blogs about him and his story.
Here is a link with a list of prisoners who would like visits and/or letters.

I wasnt visiting Jody Aggett because I thought he was innocent. I did not know anything about him or what happened when I first visited. Dont visit somebody just because u think they are innnocent. Many are guilty of drug smuggling. U probably realise that but just in case...
I do still hear from him. When I found out he had been released I sent him a message through the Foreign Prisoners Support Services and now I am a member of his facebook.
One important thing: When u send letters to the prison a lot of them go missing. Keep copies for resending. And let the prisoner know how many letters and how many copies u have said. I usually sent copies of all the letters the prisoner did not confirm he received with the new letter. Also bear in mind that the prisoner may not be the first to read what u send so be careful not to say anything that would make things difficult for them. Also remember that their replies often go missing too so dont wait for them to write back before u write again. I think the likelyhood of them not wanting to write to u is non existant.

I am a member of Jody Aggetts(the prisoner I used to visit) facebook now so I hear lots.
His mother is also a member of his facebook so I sent her a Christmas message last night.
Google Jody Aggett and u will get a long list of news blogs about him. I just saw them yesterday when I was going to send his family a Christmas message through the Foreign Prisoners Support Service. Before that I did not know he had been released. There were pages of news blogs about him and I wondered what the h*ll... Last time I looked there were only a few about appeals and campaigns for him. When I read he has been released I sent him a message through the Foreign Prisoners Support Service and then got an email from him.
