Hi everyone. I am now in Sydney as part of my rtw trip, so far I have been to USA/Canada/New Zealand and the east coast of Oz and so far I have been using a Karrimor backpack, which I have not been very happy with. It is quite heavy and uncomfortable (I have a bit of a bad back) the smaller bag has broken off.
So I am thinking about getting a bag with wheels while I am here, I have seen some very reasonable ones in the market. So far everywhere I have been I cant see that having a bag like this would be a problem. But after OZ i am travelling through Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, China, Japan and India and was wondering if I would encounter any problems with them there. Bad roads etc..
Has anyone had any experiences or heard anything that maybe of help to me?

Thanks in advance

Ian

I think a backpack would be a better bet for Asia. Maybe you could go to a camping/outdoor store and get the staff o fit your pack properly to you to avoid further discomfort. Kathmandu stores are great for this. Also, their big Christmas sale is on now so you might even be able to pick up a new pack that fits you properly for up to half the usual price:)

Wheelie packs are good when you're sure that transportation and hotels are accessible to the degree that 1) you wouldn't need to walk much, 2) streets are nicely paved, 3) hotels always have elevators, 4) the pack can be stored somewhere secure when you've checked-out and out for the day before checking in at another hotel.

Probably better to find a comfortable backpack for the convenience.
