If you go on a tuesday that is when they are filming so you might catch a glimpse of the cast. Although, the beach itself is not that nice. the sand is a strange orange colour. its a nice drive from sydney though, all along the coast.

I don't follow the dumb, pathetic show that is what is mainly responsible for younger generation of kids in Australia, turning in to complete and utter inconsiderate prats. I know of numerous kids in my extended family who often quote some of the dumb remarks on that show, and also treat parents like what happens with Drew and Peter when Peter decided to go out with that slutty character Amanda.

If not knowing what's happening on a dumb show like Home and Away is obsessing you, you need to get a life and find a new thing to be obsessed over!

By the way, for the moment it isn't on TV, because it is in the short break that I cherish to get rid of the crap off TV every year.

The show may not be gay, but it is a pathetic show and anyone who watches the garbage needs a good reality check, even though quite a lot of people do watch the crap.

Huh? I thought it was a real life documentary.

And that is how you know you're getting old.
Trust me, your generation was thought of as just as complete and inconsiderate prats, quoting just as dumb remarks from some other dumb, pathetic show. (I know, because I'm part of the same generation.) ;)
I don't know this show, but obviously it caught something in the zeitgeist that resonates with some people. There's always boundaries needing to be pushed, and individuality needing to be expressed en-masse.

Might I also humbly suggest that you go and catch a sunrise tomorrow morning, breathe in, and realize how nice life can be if you approach it positively, just as a reality check on all that's still beautiful with the world? :)

Soaps are crap and not real life, especially ones like Home and Away. My sister and father love the show, but I personally find it an embarrasment that any human being with any morals and values in life can watch it. It has been on TV for so many years now, it is about as boring as Days of Our Lives or Young and the Restless, which are mainly aimed at housewives with nothing better to do, or dumb boring farts who are almost on their death bed who can't be bothered watching something else. I was hoping like hell when I heard the ad that Peter may be dying, that he did and a few other characters followed to get the show closer to an end. A part in the plot should be the old Japanese generation should come with a surprise attack on Summer Bay (ie like the Pearl Harbour attack in Hawaii) and wipe out the whole population of the show ending it within a few episodes of the incident. That would be a great thing and then maybe this generation of school kids, might be able to grow up realising the way the real world is menat to be, instead of making it more like a soapy. That is why Australian kids are turning in to what they are now a days, because in the past you wouldn't dare be rude to your elders, and if you were you'd get your backside belted for your trouble. By the way I am not an old person either, well at least I don't class myself as old yet still being under 30. I'm sure if I was watching the show when I was watching the show obsessed when I was in school, I probably would have turned out the same way my sister has and numerous other younger members of my family. Even though I am forced to eat dinner at the table when Home and Away is on every night, I try to switch off, but sometimes it is impossible. My sister is so obsessed that she uses my computer every weekday to check the website out for what's going to be on the next episode, so if you are obsessed with the show, you should do that.

I know that a couple of months back Peter hooked up with Amanda and Drew was so pissed off about it that he ran away and bashed his father almost to death. Then Peter caught Amanda kissing someone else in a carpark when she wentto get somethine which was supposedly a present for Peter.

I also know that some drugs were planted in a person at school's car and he claimed he didn't do it. My sister at the time was saying that he was being framed for it, so I assume that is what was happening.

My sister would probably be able to tell you the whole story of recent times, but I on the otherhand just occasionally get glimpses of the show and have to listen to my family talk about it all the bloody time.

I'm sorry but it's all about Neighbours when it comes to Australian Soaps.

I am making a pilgrimage to Ramsay Street next year. It is my Mecca.

Hey Everyone

Well, this is a very entertaining conversation! I must agree that Neighbours, is by far, the superior although, I am the only one of my friends that thinks so (maybe I'm wrong - nah).

Anyhoo, I just wanted to say that watching a show like Neighbours (or Home and Away) has not corrupted me. My parents raised me to be the person I am, not television! For me, it is pure escapism! I love to lose myself in the ridiculous story lines and hopeless lives of these people. It's fab! When I'm watching, I switch off to the "real world" and it enables me to see the lighter side of life. I would never judge someone for not watching it and so I'm not sure others should be judged because they do. :(

If a child is shouting back at their parents or, in any way, acting like some of the kids do on these shows I agree it's a BIG problem! But it's not tv's fault - who's letting them watch it the first place???

That's my two pennies worth anyway.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!
