Hey Wondering if anyone has heard anything about ?

They guarantee jobs and seemingly good wages (which makes me wonder if there's a catch) Any suggestions about where I can find out more about them (besides their website) would be great!

If anyone has suggestions for other working holiday companies that have helped them find memorable and decent paying jobs please let me know either by post or pm.

Sorry if a similiar topic is posted elsewhere, but I couldn't find anything pertaining to go workabout.

Never heard of them, but spent some time checking out their website as it's always interesting to hear about new players. They seem pretty okay and are relatively unique in offering a guaranteed job before departure. On the other hand, it's a ton of work to do all this over the internet whereas in Australia you might get the same job just by rocking up and having a 15 minute chat.

I assume you're from Canada based on your username, so you might want to check out SWAP (part of Travelcuts). Think their website is, but a google search would prove it. They've been around forever whereas the Workabout one seems really new as I've never heard of it and I actually run a company that does something similar - sorry, not in Canada. The new thing is absolutely not necessarily a bad thing though, just thought I'd mention it.

There might be others from Canada, but SWAP is the only big one I know about. Not quite sure how their price compares to the 685 AUD that workabout charges (or less if you don't take their visa).

Thanks for sending me a message canada_guy about this thread. I've got to say that I haven't heard of them either - from what I can tell the company has been around for about 1 year or so.

Their website provides a fair amount of useful information, which is a good thing. I've only skimmed over the details so far, but what I've seen so far what they're saying seems fine. In regards to finding more about them, unless anyone else posts here then search engines (e.g. Yahoo, Google, Dogpile) will be the way to go!

It's also good to see such a company based outside of Sydney or Melbourne. I notice goworkabout are based in Perth, WA - although if you call them from outside of Australia be aware that the phone number they've given is a mobile (cell) phone so will cost more to call than a landline.

As Sam I Am said, it could be possible to find the same kind of job after a brief chat with someone once you're inside Australia. But that is down to the kind of person you are - some prefer to know before they go, some don't.

Thanks for the responses.

The company seems interesting. I like the idea of a smaller organization. I have looked into SWAP already, but I've been more impressed with the promises of companies like Go Workabout and OzIntro. I guess all that's left to decide is whether I want to pick fruit.

If I decide to pick fruit then I might as well go to WA. However, I am also trying to get a response from some temp agencies as to whether or not I would be a good fit for their advertised positions.
