Travel Forums System Talk Concerned

I am quite concerned about a PM that was sent to one of TP's members. Shouldn't someone post a general warning somewhere?

cheers,
Niels

I see you've already posted something in the thread Niels. Basically, there is very little we can do to stop this happening completely, although with the new built in anti spammer system, it's pretty hard for this kind of spammer to get out much more than 5 messages in total.

But yes, they can be very dangerous and everyone should be really careful. I kind of half assume that everyone that has ever received 5 emails in their life is aware of this and should always delete these emails/messages etc., but you're right in putting out the warning as it's getting harder and harder.

For those interested in this kind of thing; I spent hours one night literally laughing out loud at some of the letter exchanges at this site. It's good to see some spammers being taught a lesson! The Trophy section, where they try and get spammers to send in their pictures with a caption, is legendary!

I agree with Sam - there's no way to stop these things from happening. Just laugh at them.

I don't mean offense to anyone, but when you get 100 spam messages per day, you get pretty p**d off with this stuff. The problem is the messages get more and more sophisticated. Basically, if the company that emails you isn't able to produce your first and last name in the email, it's probably spam and should be deleted (oh, and be careful with that, I've deleted serious emails because sites don't know what they are doing - yes, that includes top three sites in the world... :) ).
