Travel Forums Australia / New Zealand & The Pacific Experienced travellers, opinion on this insurance policy!?!?

Hi, ive been looking for travel insurance for some weeks for my 12mnth trip to Oz via thailand, bali, syngapore then to Oz on a working holiday visa...

This seems to be the best deal I can find, apart from the high excess it seems to be quite a good deal...

If any experienced travellers could take a few minutes to check over the cover details an comment on the level of cover it offers me it would be great...

I'm a first time traveller, so I want to be sure I am fully covered...

I dont intend to undertake any hazadous activities (that I know of) whilst on my trip, just want a basic level of cover.. and at £178 for 12months cover, it is by far the cheapest deal i have found...

Thanks

Mike.:)

Their property insurance seems extremely weak, with more exceptions on what isn't covered than things that are covered, which is probably a large part of what allows them to be cheap.
Also, as the policy document says, make absolutely certain to register for medicare once you've arrived in Australia, otherwise they won't cover you.

Other than that it looks fine, based on a cursory glance, with me even being quite impressed with how much they cover wrt medical expenses, but to be safe you'll probably want to read their policy document in depth and be certain you understand all the implications and caveats.

I think you are right about the property cover being poor, however I do not intend to take anything of significant value, certainly nothing I would claim for if I was to pay an £75 excess...

Thanks.

Mike.
