Well NZ is an incredible country with plenty to see throughout. The biggest question about your trip are how much time and money.

Highlights-
North Island: Coramandel Penisula, Bay of Islands, one day in Auckland, Lake Taupo (bungy jump was awesome), Rotorua kind of cool, definately get to Waitomo caves to go black water rafting in the glow worm caves, head down to Wellington and spend a few days hanging out in this chill city, jump on a ferry to the south Island.

South Island: If your budget allows rent a car in Picton and drive counter clockwise around the island. First stop, Abel Tasman National Park. It is an incredible place but the only ways around the park are hiking long distances or taking the numerous water taxis. Spend some time here on the beautiful remote beaches. Make you way down to the glaciers and hike up either Franz Josef of Fox Glacier, go and check out Mt. Cook national park, spend a few days in Lake Wanaka, head to Queenstown and spend a few days being an adrenaline junkie (be careful here, you can spend a lot of money that is not in your budget on activities), head out to Milford Sound (highlight of my trip) a take a kayak tour of the sound. Try and do it in the afternoon it is far less crowded. Continue around the island through Dunedin and check out the tourist destination of walking up the worlds steepest road Baldwin Street, finish up in Christchurch and fly out from there.

These are just a few suggestions on what to do. If you need any addtional help with this trip please let me know. Also if time allows spend a few days tramping in the wilderness. Brent
