I started traveling internationally at 16 years old. At 17 I left the country while still a minor, requiring legal affidavits signed by both parents to allow me to disappear to Mexico for the summer. Best thing they ever could have done.

From there, it became a disease. I've been all over the planet and have done it on a shoe-string budget. If you're going to any of the following countries, then I can help: Mexico, Cuba, Canary Islands, UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Norway, Germany, Namibia, South Africa, Mozambique, Mauritius, Australia x3, New Zealand (where I now live), Fiji x4, Tahiti, Hawaii, Alaska, 38US states. I've done most places by land, driving across Australia 3 times.

If you want to reach me with questions regarding planning, tips, working, etc, email me through my blog (see below). I have set up a little personal journal, photo, and video site for my new life in New Zealand. It's NOT a commercial site. There are no ads or products for sale. Just information. I'm an admitted travel-addict and would love to make "junkies" out of everyone!!!

Some people say they can't afford to travel. I say you can't afford NOT to travel!!

Cheers, Bill

I have a 6-month trip coming up which originally included S America, Europe, 3 Mid East countries, SE Asia, China, 2-3 South Pacific countries and MAYBE New Zealand. But now I've decided to deleted the S America portion to spend more time in Europe and New Zealand. My question to you is what are the must-sees in NZ, both in the cities and outdoors (hiking, camping, etc)?

You chose the wrong destinations for real shoestring travelling by the way. And you are from Sao Tome and Principe?
