Hello! I am going to Paris for New Years. How easy is to exchange American Dollars into Euros? Are there places to exchange money in Paris that I should or should not go? Can I get a better exchange rate in the ferry from UK? Thanks! Merci!

Hi Audry,

Best rates you probably get from not changing money at all, but making a withdrawal in France. Otherwise, I have good experiences in general with Tomas Cook, but look here for a different angle :)

Hi Audry ! May be you should ask to your bank if you could transfer some money in advance on your card account, then you would'nt have to pay some taxes during the withdrawal. Well this is what i read on a forum some minutes ago (ten exemple was about CityBank, which is supposed to do that.

In any case, you can change your money on the Champs Elysées, it seems to be the cheapest place to do it in paris everyday.

Hope that help !
Philippe

Yes, it is better to withdraw money with a card from an ATM. the best is to withdraw a big amount in one time to avoid fees.
Have a good time in France !
Everything else is OK for your trip ?
