I´m going to Warszawa with a couple of friends for the New Year´s weekend. So if anyone could give some tips about where the best nightlife spots are, I´d appreciate it. Fine if you could list places which are also reasonably safe. I´ve heard that some areas of the city are a little dodgy, so we don´t want to end up in a dangerous situation.
Hope you can help me with this one!

Come on, you guys! Surely, someone on this forum has been in Warszawa?
Hi, i went to Warsaw in mid October and found it pretty boring. Spent a saturday night in the old town and didn't really like the bar/night scene, there were lots of pricey (relative to the rest of eastern europe) resturaunts that looked quite nice though, but if you're going for NYE i doubt that's what you're after. I didn't have time to explore other parts of town, so they might be more fun. I would recommend the Orange Hostel though, it had a great common room and facilities.
If you have a bit of flexibility with your plans i'd recommend going south to Krakow. It's a university city with a fantastic old town and some great places to party at night. It's also a lot cheaper than Warsaw and everything is much more centrally located.
Warsaw has some nice places but you have to search for them. Been there summer 06 and had a great time. Liked to city very much and enjoyd the nice people and cheap drinks. Just ask your hostel/hotel people where to go. Also cabdriver could inform you. Hang out with locals and have fun !!
