Oh my. Not to scare you or anything, but if you don't already know anyone in LA, it can be a big, scary, lonely place. Are you sure you don't want to try someplace a little more friendly like San Francisco or Seattle (or anywhere else besides LA)?

(And sorry, but I don't live in LA. I've just been there a few too many times.)

Hi,

I do know lots of ppl from my country who are living in and around LA, but I wanted to get in touch with the native ppl and talk to them, interact with them and get to know their cukture and way of living.

regards
Soul

Dear Soul,

You'll be moving to an area that reflects the United Nations. Literally every ethnic group resides in this part of California.

If you would like to touch bases with people from India, there is a lovely community where you can visit and shop. It is Artesia, and is located in southeastern Los Angeles County near (highways Interstate 605 and State Road 91). Artesia has been nicknamed "Little India."

Your post did not mention what part of the Los Angeles area you are moving to. Perhaps we locals could give you more insight if we knew where you intend to reside.

Good luck in your new venture.

hey man

i dont know about that first poster but yea hes totally wrong......

people are people - guys are guys - girls are girls.

Pretty much everyone wants the same thing in life, friends women and money for starters :D

goto la clubs meet women have fun you will make many new friends.

i have lived in usa brazil spain and france, i have made soo many friends over the last few years, met many women tooo :D.

Yes their is a little india its cool place, lots of nice shops. But dont sourround yourself in that community and be afriad to leave, some people live there and never come out. Be a part of the usa, its very multi cultural so you can do just about anything. Your own music, your own religion, whatever you want, its normal.

In france i kinda felt out of the norm a little, things were done this way and that way for so long and i dare you to break it. Just kidding not that bad but yea. Enjoy LA i lived thier for a while, i now reside in miami and rio de janeiro brazil which is also a fantastic place.

Have fun, life is to short not tooo

I've been all over too and spent a lot of time living in LA.. it's different. It has some high points but people are just more aloof in LA - it is about status, and what you do that is more important and not who you are. I spent 12 years there - I gave it a fair shot.

Pasadena (so as NOT to scare you) IS different though. It has a different vibe. I loved that city a lot. It is almost bohemian in some parts. I think you will find some coffee houses and places much more welcoming!

Keep at it though, it sounds like you are outgoing and won't have any problems meeting people!
