Does anyone know how hard it is to get good color and black & white print film in Thailand/Laos/Camodia/Vietnam/Malaysia/Nepal?
Can undeveloped film be shipped back to the US safely or do I have to carry it with me the whole trip?
You can buy film most anywhere. (Why aren't you shooting in digital, though?)
If you're mailing a package *away* from each country, then it's doubtful that they'll even care what the package contains. An exception might be Vietnam, though, as it's not totally an open society and there may be officials who are paranoid about what you've photographed there.
I should add, though, that you ought not to mail away your only copies of your photos. Not all mail systems are the same, and it's not too unlikely that a package might disappear -- so hopefully you can retain the negatives throughout your trip. Or something.
thanks for your reply,
ive got a mini digital camera for happy snaps but am debating on taking my film camera...i cant aford a digital camera that takes comperable photos to my old 35mm
its good to know that inspectors wont have a problem with the undeveloped film. what about x-rays?i assume that the mail isnt regularly x-rayed, right?
