not true.

edinburgh is a FAR safer city and a FAR prettier city than glasgow.

glasgow can be very very dangerous with a lot of gun crime and secartian violence.

i think the stats speak for themselve.

Glasgow is rated as one of the most dangerous citys in europe!!!

Quoting Mel.

Hello again

Does anybody know what Glasgow is like?
I dont know much about it, but i get the impression, that it is not the most beautiful city. But maybe i am wrong. As i said, i know nothing, about it.
Anybody got any comments, that would sell Glasgow to me, as a possible destination?

Mel

Hi Mel,

Glasgow is a stunning city- just a little different to Edinburgh, for example. One thing is Almost every building in the centre of Glasgow is stunning but they are all close together. something a lot of people say about the city is "look up". Most people don't notice the buildings, museums etc. cos they are too busy shopping (Glasgow is the 2nd largest shopping centre/city in the UK after London) or drinking. You also have amazing free art galleries like GoMA (gallery of modern art), hunterian gallery and Kelvingrove - which is said to have possibly the greatest civic collection in the world. Add to this some of the best pubs and clubs in europe (like the sub club, riverside and the CCA - centre for contemporary arts). You also have great restaurants like the Rogano and hotels like One Devonshire Gardens. Anybody that says they could not find anything to do in Glasgow, regardless of their interests, simply isn't trying. Almost forgot - by far the best thing about it is the people. You'll see what i mean when you visit.;)

This is also utter crap! Have you ever been to glasgow? Have you seen Trainspotting (set in edinburgh). Some parts of Glasgow are rough - but that is true of any city. Read any guide and they will tell you how friendly Glasgow is to visitors. Do you get a kick out of demonising a city on the basis of having read some rubbish in a paper or some dodgy documentary filmed 30 years ago?
And as for the stats - what stats? Please keep your trap shut unless you have something constructive to say. Scaremongering does no one any good. Honestly i don't understand people that make comments like that.
