US bank ATM limits

Travel Forums Round the World Travel US bank ATM limits

I have heard mention of some bank ATM limits being to low for some countries. What ATM withdrawal limit amounts have members found to be restricting.

I would like to ask my bank before I leave if the limit can be raised if I find it necessary.

i know nothing about usa...

for me in ireland, one of my bank limits is 700 euro! thats me taking out cash from a atm...and 600 euro with another bank card...

in your case its most likely going to be 600 dollars-700 dollars...

I think most basic accounts in the US allow a $300/24hrs. There're accounts that have higher limits. You just have to ask the bank. I think $500/24hrs is sufficient. Some would suggest you carry more than one card for back-up.

Thank you for the replies.

Perhaps I was not clear. I know the limit my bank has placed on my card.

What I am looking for is what amount of money members with US bank accounts found to be NOT ENOUGH for any one withdrawal.

Maybe I should ask in this way:

What is the limit on your US ATM card and has that limit ever restricted you from having enough cash.

Thanks! :)

Oops looks like Dezafinado edited after the system sent me a mail. Cool then...that's one vote for $500. Sounds like planty of money does anyone else have another opinion?
