Hey there, I'm new. More to the point I'm going to be going to Brisbane on the 4th of Jan and I was wondering how hard it is to get work around there. I was also wondering what kind of exciting things should I do and see ?? I'll be in Brisbane for a month or two staying with my relative int he suburb the gap. So if any one has any suggestions I'd appreciate them all thanks. Oh and one more questions whats the best way of getting around, transport wise that is ?
Is Brisbane worth stopping in?
I'll be spending a few days in Surfers Paradise then taking a bus up to Brisbane. Should I spend a day or two there or just continue going up to Airlie beach and the Whitsundays? How is Lone Pine Koala and the XXXX Brewery? Thanks!
If it's only a day in Brisbane, then it might be worth it. Anymore time than that and it might be over doing it, as there's a lot more to see around that area than a smallish city.
If you get to the Sunshine Coast, drop in to Noosa Heads. It's a very nice beachside town.
I agree. brissy is ok for a couple of days max. Would recommend Lone Pine.
I stayed for 2 months in Brisbane and had a great time. Finding work wasn't too difficult but I guess it depends what you are after. It took me 2 weeks to get an office job.
it's not too hard getting work in Brisvegas, depending on how quick you need it and how low you're willing to sink . Start looking on www.seek.com.au before you arrive, you'll get an idea of what's around, maybe even line something up before you get here.
As for transport from the gap, you're looking at a fairly significant bus ride to the city, or a train and a bus. If you can beg, borrow or steal (ok not steal) a car or the use of a car, you'll be much happier. It also means you can road trip to the Gold and Sunshine Coasts and the hinterland, all of which you absolutely must see.
see you at the pub,Ill be there on monday
Lone Pine Koala sanctuary is amazing!
u really get to see where the money goes that u spend there.
and u get to hold a koala bear and have your photo taken with it.
I fell ill in Brissy and ended up having to stay there for 3 weeks. the last week i was better it was my birthday and went on a complete bender around the cty, it was so much fun...iv never seen so many irish bars in a city in my whole life
After we left Brissy and headed up the east coast, we went up to the Glasshouse mountains which was really good and where we saw out first two wild kangaroos and also we went to steve irwins Zoo which was just simply amazing. (and lucky for us the man was there himself doing a croc show RIP). If u go to the zoo make sure u pay that lil bit extra 2 have a tour around the little animal hostpital that hes got set up there. it was reall really interesting.
I think from Brissy u can do the glasshouse mountains and Stevey's zoo on a combined day tour as they're right next t each other.
have fun x
