Oz2Asia has indicated that this thread is about Ireland

Am off to Dublin for 4 days, 3 nites, alone. Where is the cheapest place to stay that is easy walking distance from the heart of town? I dont care if it is crusty and roach infested. Just need a place to lie down in a drunken pile.
Thanks heaps.

Hello Oz2Asia

I usually stay at Ashfield House, on D'Olier St.
U can have a bed, in the mixed dorm, for 13.50 euros per night.
It is right in the middle of Dublin.
And if u haul yourself out of bed, before 10AM, u will get corn flakes, bread, fruit juice and as much tea and coffee as u can drink, included in the price.
And u can book it on the internet.

Hi Oz2Asia,

Any hostel on the north side (of the Liffey) will suit you. Don't go to a hostel in Temple Bar as you are bound to pay a lot more!

Lower Gardiner st is great for run down, skanky hostels but they are very cheap! go for the bed in a 10 bed room option for the best deal.

if you look up for hostels in Gardiner st, Dublin 1 you should find a few.

Have fun!!

You can also check out Avalon House at, their rates are low, reviews are good, and they are right in the heart of Dublin city.

Anybody familiar with Abraham House? I am looking to hear what it's actually like as opposed to what they say it's like.
