I take it u are from Australia then. If I were you, if you are travelling to Vietnam before thailand I would get the visa at home before you go as it will save a lot of queueing and complications. If you are going to thailand before vietnam then any hostel you stay in should be able to sort it out for you within a day or two for a small fee.

with regards to going oevr the 30 days in thailand, you could either take a trip for a few days to cambodia (need a visa as well) to see angkor wat which is amazng and then you get another 30 days on re-entry. Alternatively you can pop over the border to burma (myanmar) and re-enter, but you cant go further than a few miles inland in burma going overland. Another alternative would be to pop into malaysia (no visa required) if you are in the south. I made trips to both cambodia and laos to entend my visa as well as just going down to the thailand embassy in bangkok and got a two week entension, but this last option was expensive. I would recommend popping over to cambodia for a few days, it is well worth the visit and the temples are beautiful

happy travels

Hi nono,

Yeah it's easy to extend it past 30 days in Thailand just by popping out and in again - you'll see plenty of "visa run" adverts in travel agents windows etc where you pop to cambodia / myanmar or wherever for a day or so and then come back to get the visa extension.

You won't have a problem!

Cheers,

Chris
