Dear fer,

I have just checked the avis Turkey page (www.avis.com.tr - you can select your language from the menu on the top of the page). For one week they charge around 370€ for a class C car. I think you can find cheaper cars from one of the many companies that rent a car in Istanbul or other cities. Note that many of these "smaller" companies give prices subject to bargain. If you are a good bargainer, you can even have it in half the price they originally propose. In fact, as a tourist, you should bargain everywhere in everything in Turkey, otherwise they overcharge.

The fuel oil is one of the most expansive in Europe, so be prepared...

Good louck,

Sayat

Unless you are sharing the car hire, the buses would be a much better alternative, they are so cheap and so reliable to cover the long distances to get to the East.

We have just returned from 6 weeks in Turkey and found the buses just so good - great for meeting the local people as well. Long distances can easily be covered on the overnight buses.
