Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean Need help with airfair & travel within Peru

I land in Lima at 4:30am on a Tuesday in March. I need to book a flight from Lima to Cusco returning to Lima on Friday evening.
What is the cheapest way to book? Does anyone know of any discount airline websites? I've looked directly at the airlines websites and the price is $200.
Also, if I arrive at 4:30 am, will I have time to make it onto a 6am flight? Is 1 1/2 hours enough time to get through customs, pick up my luggage, check in again and board a flight to cusco from lima?
I really want to go rafting while either in Cusco or Lima. Can anyone recommend a rafting company or way of booking?
Are mesquitos a problem? Do I need bug repelant?

Thanks for your help!

I would recommend LAN-Peru,go direct to there Website and book
If you have only 1 1/2 hours between arrivel and bording I would say that is not enough time.
Lima-Cusco with LAN= $198.00
Tax 37.62 Total price= $ 235.62

The have some flights every day, starts 06.00am,next would be 08.30 am

enjoy Peru,

One alternative to flying from Lima to Cusco is to take a sleeper bus if you have the time.. It is a lot cheaper and very comfortable. I would check it out if you have the time, otherwise you have to fly. I did not raft while in Peru so I can't help you with that. If you are interested in hiking the Inca Trail I would go with SAS they were incredible. They also may offer rafting trips or may be able to give you the name of reputable company. Mosquitos are bad if you do any hiking and I would think they would be bad down by the rivers. I would bring bug repellant if I were you. They hurt when you get bit then they itch like hell. I would recommend staying at Loki hostel in Cusco as well. Good price, great rooms, fun little bar, good food, and about a 10 minute walk to the square or a 3 sole taxi. Enjoy Peru its awesome.

I found a cheaper rate with TACA, usd178 with taxes. But it leaves at 6:00am, too tight. What I've checked with Lan it's rather expensive. Consider the bus, it's a good alternative.

I was unable to book a morning flight to Cusco the same day. I did book with Taca though as they were the cheapest. They require you check in 3 HOURS EARLY!! The gate closes 1 hour prior to departure. Just an FYI for everyone else.

I paid $158.46 with taxes r/t. I have been looking for months and that is the cheapest I could find. Taca only has one flight to and from Cusco every day.
Hope this helps.

My rafting question has also been answered. (thank you john) I booked with River Exporers. (add a dot com to get their website) It's $30 for a 1 day trip on a river in Cusco.
