I am spending the first 2 weeks in Phi Phi, Krabi and Koh Panang. But would like to go somewhere new for the next 2 weeks. somewhere thats quite different, interesting and where there's loads to do! but not too far away and hard to get too.
Has anyone got any ideas or reccomendations?
Thankyou very much for your help.

I guess only the (north)eastern parts of Thailand are less touristy...but you have to see it in perspective. Thailand is just popular and not without reason.
In the east are some nice Khmer temples along the border with Cambodia, probably not so impressive as Angkor Wat of course, but still nice.
Maybe also try to visit some neighbouring countries, like Laos and Cambodia. I heard that since not so long ago it's possible to cross the border from Laos to Cambodia, probably that is one of the less traveled parts of SE Asia.

Why not try Kong Chiam ? You can get there via BKK by train to Ubon, and then bus up to KC where the two rivers- the mekong and Moon rivers meet. There are GHs, and you can hire bike, etc for country rides to parks, treks, etc. You won't feel "templed out" here! Watch the sunset by the riverside...

Hello Blue

I met a guy, when I was in Bangkok. He recommended an island, for me, which he says is not very touristed. He also said, it is a little difficult to get to, but worth it.
I did not go yet, so if u go, be sure to come back here, and tell me all about it.

Here is the link, for the island
