Yep...it's me again..
yesterday I posted a thread about Thailand, but I'm not sure yet about my choice, because my first intention was to visit Hong Kong but then a friend of mine told me about Thailand and that it's much cheaper than Hong Kong,...so I'm back at my first choice......any tips on a cheap vacation in Hong Kong?
I'll be there in october 2004..

senorfrog,

Welcome to Hong Kong!

Before giving your information, may I know how long will you stay in Hong Kong?

To be honest, I don't think there is a much cheaper way to backpack in Hong Kong especially when to compare to places like Thailand, I think the main expense in Hong Kong will be your accomodation, I have looked up on the net and the cheapest I have found so far to call ' rent a room' hostel and it is still about £10 a night. To save some money I can suggest that you eat in local cafes and get the tram when you travel on Hong Kong Island. Depending on how long you want to stay in Hong Kong and when sort of adventure you are after. If you are after peace and quite plus relaxation then I suggest to go to Thaiand.

3-star hotels in HK are about US$50 and 3-star hotels in BKK are about US$20-30.
