id prefer to book my hotel in advance. some of my friends recommended the d&d hotel which is on
the Khao San Road but i would like to know if there is even better ones? or if you recommend this?

Hi There
I would definately reccommend the D + D inn on the Khoa san road. It's very clean and has a great rooftop pool and bar with awesome views over Bangkok.
Also it's in a great location on the buzzing Khoa San road.
It's a great road in itself and is only a tuk tuk away from anywhere you wanna go in the city.
Make sure you ask the drivers for a tuk tuk race!!!!!
I'm getting all excited cos i'll be there in a month and a half!
Honestly i've been to Bangkok twice before and always stay at d+d's.
Hopefully this is of use to you
Enjoy Yourself!!!

Some of the rooms in D&D were renovated last year, and the rooftop swimming pool is the best compared with others on Khao San Road. If it is full, try Villa Orchid which is 2 minutes away, just behind the temple. Good food, nice staff, perfect place to chill when it is too hot for doing anything else.. Enjoy Bkk!

How much do you want to spend. The Landmark Hotel on Sukhumvit Road is pretty nice. It's close to the Nana Skytrain stop and lots of interesting places.

If I were u, I would defenetely stay in some hotel in Khao San road area. It is really laid back and still close to everything. Chao Praya river station is just a minute walk away.. lots of tuk-tuks and taxis to anywhere you would like to go. You can meet hundreds of backpackers and you can shop till u drop. You dont need to make reservations because there are lots of hotels around, and it doesnt matter if u arrive there during the night. You will love Thailand.

Hi,

Khao San and its surrounding roads should be the right spot for you to meet lots of backpackers and travellers. I haven' t stayed at D&D yet but heard from other people that it's quite alright there. For more hostels you might check this site:
http://www.khaosanroad.com/

Especially if you arrive later in the afternoon/evening I would advice you to book online in advance, it's just more comfortable, Khao San Road is quite crowded in the evening.

One thing I'd never do i n BKK is taking a tuk-tuk - usually the drivers try to cheat you, sometimes they even ask you for more than the "Taxi-Meter"-drivers do. Taxi driving in BKK is really cheap and comfortable - no noise, no exhaust gases, but air-condition :-)

Silke
