I wonder if anybody of you know which country is the cheapest to learn a scuba diving? and please let me know how much is it!
I really wanna learn it during my RTW which will be started on comming July, and considering my budget, i have to find a cheap country.
Last time I was in Malta it was pretty damn cheap to get lessons. Maybe try there?
I did my NAUI Openwater I in Thailand - did the actual training and exams in Pattaya and then went diving in the Indian Ocean at the Phi Phi Islands - amazing.
Several years ago, the Philippines were quite cheap to become certified. In Thailand, the Thai baht has become stronger against the USD. Not true in the P.I. That should make the P.I. a cheaper place to take your dive course. Have a great trip.
Malaysia is very cheap about 100US$ for the basic course I think.
would you please tell me the price????????
I can't give you exact prices I'm afraid but after choosing where you are going to do it, don't just opt for the cheapest school out there. The cheap outfits often have unreliable equipment and when you're down in the depths the last thing you want to risk is not being able to breathe, or breathing from dodgy, dirty tanks.
Make sure whoever you use has good recommendations from other people you meet along the way (you will no doubt meet others who have done their PADI in the region) and don't go to one just because it looks good value. It is probably cheap for a reason.
The last time I was in Thailand it cost between 14000 and 18000 baht for a proper course including a few open water dives, equipment and the certification.
Malaysia, Thailand offer cheap and reputable courses, philippines is cheap as well but i dont know about the safety, IMHO i would go for malaysia....
Vietnam (nha trang) is really cheap to get certification
Hi there, i believe the cheapest place in the world to learn is Koh Tao in thialand, its a great little island that has load of great dive spots and loads of schools. I did my open water course with my girlfriend last year and loved it so much we stayed for our advanced course, also because its so cheap. I went with planet Scuba one of the smaller schools which was great, the price included accomadation which was super cheap. I think it was about £120 for four days tuition, diving and accomadation and a lot of fun. Steer clear of Bans dive school its too big and you'll look like and ant getting on and off the boat!
