Hello Nicolej

I lived with a lot of Australians, in a flat, in Kennington. But that was 17 years, ago. Maybe the area has changed.

I think they will live in most places, where there is shared accomodation, at a reasonable price.

MANY of the australians that come to london are based in south west london.

in particular areas such as wimbledon, southfields, shepherds bush, clapham, putney and fulham...

also hammersmith is popular with australians too...

hammersmith and shepherds bush arent as expensive as putney, clapham, etc but they arent as nice to live in (apparently)

plus if ur an aussie do u really want to live in england with a bunch of aussies? whats the fun in that :)

There's a 'Wake up' hostel near Paddington station thats run by Aussies and there are generally a lot staying there also, if you missed the accent I'm sure they'd let you go and hang out there, I stayed there for a while once and everyone was pretty cool!

that wake up hostel - if you call directory assistance for the number - you won't find it - BUT - if you look on their website - you will!!!

i called directory assistance a NUMBER of times when i was drunk in London looking for a place to stay - and they always said, are you crazy?!
ohh -w ell, have a great time in London
i am goin back in March - so if you are there then, we should catch up for a drink or something - and then i could show you round or something :)

Yep, Shepherd's Bush and Earls Court - you won't be able to see for Aussies.

Good places to live in London are as hard to find as a sober Aus! I've been searching for a decent flatshare or studio for ages Shepherd's Bush and Acton are good for Aussie's and Kiwis, I eventually found one on which is a lot like gumtree. I found these sites really helpful when I was looking for somewhere to live in London, but if you've just arrived and want to be a bit of a tourist before you settle in and develop that stiff upper lip then go on something like because they helped me plan all of that touristy crap I wanted to do at the beginning like visit the London Dungeon (£21 to see some crusty dummies "dying" of the plague). They also recommended some good restaurants so I didn't get fleeced because food in the touristy parts is pricey!

Anyway hope this helps...have a good time - I LOVE THIS CITY!
