hi, i've done a couple of searches on this topic, and have gotten some really helpfull information, but i still don't have a link to a recomended bus company site, that works.

i'd appriciate any help, or advice.

i'm meeting friends in buenos aires, but will have a week to kill before hand...... so i'm thinking of flying into santiago and bussing it to buenos aires, stoping off at mendoza, it was suggested on here.

anyone else thinking of doing this trip, around mid march?

The few websites that I know are utterly unreliable, and the smaller, cheaper companies usually don't have any at all; best ask around at the bus terminal of your choice.

Bussing Santiago-BsAs is feasible; it can be done in one go, but you can also break the journey in Mendoza as you intend.

thanks for the speedy reply.

yes, seems to be a running theme with south american sites...... so best thing to do is to just book your ticket over there.

it would be good to be able to cost this though..... would it be under $100? santiago / mendoza / buenos aires

I found that my estimates in that department are no longer reliable; best ask tonytravel, she's up to speed with that.

Hi there!
I wouldn't recommend to go from Santiago straight to Buenos Aires. A stop over in Mendoza is a wonderful idea. Neils is right about web sites, they are inaccurate, many times even non existent. At least for that itinerary.
Call or go to the bus terminal in Santiago and by your ticket "in situ". In Argentina there are some good and reliable sites, for example ANDESMAR http://www.andesmar.com/shop/default.asp?lang=en
You can get phone numbers and call, or have someone call for you (if you don't speak Spanish). In the site below you will find all companies:

Prices may vary a lot as you ask for more comfort. It can go from 60 to 140 dollars, the whole trip.
Buen viaje!!

Anyone thinking of doing this at the end of Nov. 08? I'm traveling alone here and it'd be nice to meet up with someone! :)
