I'm travelling from Bangkok to Kota Kinabalu in Borneo in March and was wondering how much flights cost and also where would be the best place in Bangkok to book a flight?

I think the cheapest way would be to fly with Airasia. You can book your e tickets in advance on the internet. Check www.airasia.com for costs and details. Hope this helps...

I flew BKK to KK on Air Asia - no problems at all, the flight is just over three hours. Got a return on their website about this time last year, cost me about £64 return including all taxes. Couldn't fault the service, but be prepared to have your bags thoroughly searched on arrival in KK regardless of what you look like.

What are you planning on doing in Borneo? Go up Mt Kinabalu if you can, and spend an afternoon on Sapi island just off KK to marvel at the monitor lizards raiding the BBQ's on the beach!!

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks for the Airasia recommendation - sounds totally cheap!

However, I tried booking a flight on the Airasia website but I got to the last stage and it said there was a problem registering some of my details and my booking had been cancelled. Has anyone else had problems with their website or is it more likely that I've typed in something wrong?

I'm doing a two week tour which includes climbing Mt Kinabalu so it's good to see that you rated it as your favourite place.

Hi Emmett70,
This few days because Air Asia is having a great promotion (1 million free seat) so the servers are quite busy...i had a same problem oso...but after login and take a few tries then every thing went fine, try to do your booking in the early morning (malaysian hour).

Thanks, I've just tried their website again and this time it worked so now I'm booked up on an internal flight and I'll probably book my flight from Bangkok in a couple of days.

Thanks for the help everyone.
