Hello ppl gonna be setting of on a rtw in september and i want to know from ppl who have done this how they managed to keep in shape, bit of a fitness fanatic and i don't want to let that go when i go travelling.
Play a lot of rugby and do a lot of running/weights and would like to keep this up anybody do anyting like this? or something similar? your advice would be much appreciated
I was wondering the same thing? I figured that I'd be doing a bit of walking in the hills which is good phys and if ur hostelling then u might be able to go for a bit of a canter in the evenings.
Trouble with travelling is trying to keep the discipline and train.
Some of the places that I'm looking at goin OZ, New Zealand should be good for stayin on top of it.
Anyone got any ideas??
a guy i know used to try to get work on farms in australia to keep fit and earn some money, he said that he was probably fitter with all the physical outdoor work then what he had done in a gym..........
i weighed 80kg two or three years ago, i've been working out at gym for two years, running for 10km nearly everyday....now i weigh 52kg....the problem is that I eat too much, and it's hard for me to control my appetite, diet is just impossible for me...but...i do work out, so i don't get too fat:D:P
losing so much weight is one of best thing that i pround of myself...this persistence isn't easy at this moment, workout is more like a habit for me...i feel so good after sweating at gym
My fitness regime is pretty much limited to lots of walking around cities sightseeing. The tricky part is eating healthy food regularly. There has been another thread on this not too long ago, you may want to read up on:
Yeah, we had problems eating healthy food all the time when our group went backpacking (especially in Germany, my poor vegetarian friend had a hard time!). If it wasn't for the fact that we walked everywhere and sparingly took the Metro/Subway, we would have each gained 10 pounds!
