Im off to Thailand on the 6th of feb and so am looking into where is good to go and where not to go. Im there for 7 weeks so have enough time to travel around a bit. also can anybody recommend some good places to stay in bangkok, chang mai and down in the south? If your out in Thailand after feb 7th, say hello to, ill definatly be in bangkok chinatown on the 18th feb because its chinese new year. might see you there
In Bangkok I stay at soi1 guesthouse = clean friendly and a Top rated Hostel in sukhumvit area. great location for public transport and full of resources and current budget traveler info.
In chaing mai I stay at spicythai backpackers. The dude that runs it has been a tour guide in the area for years- So great for a fast connection to local events and places in the area.
down south I just show up and let the buddah guide me...
Hope this helps
I would definitely recommend going hilltribe trekking in the north and also Kanchanaburi is a really interesting place to visit with lots to see and lots of historical significance.
In the south I would totally recommend going to Koh Pha Ngan for a Full Moon Party.
