we are three girls who would love to visit italy for a week on mid-may ... but we can't decide which town to visit.. we are thinking of rome, venise and florence... what do you think???
PLus... we need some really good informations about hotels in venise...(reasonable hotels)... we are not really into youth hostelling so maybe a good hotel that doesn,t exceed 200 euros/ night...
I don't really know about Venice...but if you try hard I guess there's gotta be something for way less than 200 euros/night
I've never been to the south of Italy. I was in Milan and I loved it, but I guess it's kinda different?
Anyway, I heard Siena is a very, very nice city. Unesco's world heritage as well. But that depends on the kind of things you're gonna do there I guess.
are you travellin by train from destination to desitnation?
I know tons about Rome if you can specify what type of things yall might be interested in doing.
Check out www.easyhotel.com for Venice, you may have to stay on the mainland (Mestre) but transport links are great. I stayed in Hotel Centrale, relatively cheap, clean and really helpful staff.
In Venice we stayed at the Hotel Cavaletto just off St. Mark's Square. It is a Best Western, but will still be pricey. There is a gondola dock on the back side of the hotel. Very attractive, clean, good breakfast, & great staff. They had triple & quad rooms. Best thing is its location. We were in Venice only a short time and decided to pay more for a great location in that we didn't have time to mess with transportation. I would stay there again. Google it.
You can follow Venice Florance Roma route..
as I know pisa is taking only a few hours =)
Rome, Florence and Venice... It's a good choice for spending a week in Italy.
I would say pick Rome and spend the whole week there. Hopefully, another time you can go back and travel again.
Rome on it's own is worth so much time and it's a great introduction to the country.
It is possible to do a whistle-stop tour of Rome Florence Venice but you'll be spreading yourself thinly for a week. You'd really only have a couple of nigths in each city and you'd lose a lot of time travelling.
FLorence is beautiful but I think its main attractions lie in its museums and churchs and you need a lot of time for these. It's one of the nicest cities Ive ever visited but in my opinion you need to have time to spend there.
Venice is a spectacle and really worth a visit at least once in your life
Rome has something for everyone and is a great city to spend a week.
Hope that helps a bit
I enjoyed a lot Venice, Florence and Rome and is very recomended to visit all of them. If you want to know places to eat or shop I leave some ideas in my travel blog.
