ang42710 has indicated that this thread is about England

Ok, so I am planning on moving to England for about a year to go to school...but...I am going to base where I go on my taste in music. I know, impractical, but I am so used to living near cities with huge music scenes. I don't think I could live with out it. So any suggestions will greatly help. Thanks!

well the main ones from my experience are London and Manchester.

I live near nottingham, and i dont miss out on anything here! Big music scene here too!

hope that helps

but what 'Andyroo' also forgot to mention about nottingham is that its a complete and utter dump!

manchester would be a slight improvement!

only "slight" though, cause I've been to manchester a few times and it's not the place people dream about. I liked Liverpool much better

Apart from the argueing these guys seem to have the right idea. Also, my mate is based in Brighton and he said its really pumping down there. You might wanna look into that. Leeds is not too bad also.

I live in Nottingham so feel like I have to argue for it. Its not as shit as people make out! There are just as many if not more wa*kers in Manc and Liverpool, the problem is their populations and cities are bigger so the wa*kers get saturated a bit better!

The music scene here is pretty good but its more of a dance music city. The DnB scene is pretty good. I guess if you're after indie rock then Manc would be better.

Also Newcastle has recently become inundated with indie clubs and bars, and it is by a long way the best city in England! It can get a bit nippy mind!
