Where do you recomend going in South America? I am thinking of going in one airport and out another, and taking 2-3 weeks to get between the two. Any ideas of countries, regions, cities/towns/villages, or specific places would be very welcome! Any general travel info for SA would also be usefull, as in what you need, how dangerous it is in each area, etc. I am looking for mostly culture, maybe some trekking, and if possible some rock climbing. Please nothing too touristy, I can't stand the camara crowds!:(
It would be nice if someone could give a price aproximation per day as well, I am on a budjet.

2-3 weeks is VERY little time; best restrict yourself to a roundtrip in a single country; saves you the extra fee for the open-jaw option on your ticket.

I'd say that Bolivia or Ecuador would be good candidates for the timespan you have; probably also Venezuela and Colombia, but I've never been there. The others are WAY too large. Both are touristy, but not to the extent Peru or Brazil are, so you should be able to find quiet spots rather easily.

Thanks, I will look into those. I would love to spend more time there, but I simply don't have enough space in my life at the moment! Are there any specific areas you recomend in any of those countries?
