I thought Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland was considered the 8th wonder of the "old" world...? Kinda surprised it wasnt on the new list. Maybe it's just wat they advertise on their brochures.

The Taj Mahal, I think is the most beautiful wonder ever built.

Is the Giant's Causeway natural or built?

Natural, unless you're into the Giant-from-Scotland legend.

Yeah, has to be man-made. Which rules out the pyramids and Stonehenge, because they were built by aliens. Everybody knows that! :P

We were talking about this in my archaeology class. They have some modern structures on there, and Angkor is nominated, too.

Aha, that's why Giant's Causeway is not on the list probably, it has to be manmade.
Wonder why for example the temple complex of Bagan in Myanmar is not on it as well, that's maybe even more impressive as Angkor Wat.
My favorits are Machu Picchu and the Great Chinese Wall.

I think because Bagan is not as well known as Angkor, which is sad. Especially considering the current state of Burma/Myanmar. :(

The original seven wonders don't exist anymore, except for the Great Pyramid of Giza. The others are:

    The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
    The Temple of Artemis
    Statue of Zeus at Olympia
    The Mausoleum of Maussollos
    Colossus of Rhodes
    Lighthouse at Alexandria

By pure chance i have been to 7 of 20 on the list, so my natural instinct would be to vote for them.

However, Stonehenge has to be the most disappointing 'major' attraction i have ever been to so i'm down to 6 and the Sydney Opera House, the Hagia Sophia and the statue of JC just don't float my boat enough compared to some of the others on the list.

Taj and Angkor Wat are my 2 favourites that i have been 2 and would get my vote. The Acropolis was covered in scaffolding when i saw it but that would get my vote as well.

My other 4 votes are up for grabs at the mo.
