Travel Forums Off Topic Suggested good deed for one of my Dutch neighbors

While answering another post here I was reminded of the haunting melody of "Merck toch hoe sterck". A carillon chimes recording of this was for decades the interval signal played for five minutes or so before the sign-on of the powerhouse shortwave broadcaster Radio Netherlands International. Late-night shortwave listening is what first fanned the flames of travel and adventure for many in the Before Internet era. Listening to this melody still to this day (30 years later) gives me chills.

While checking on the name of this work, I found an entry for it in Wikipedia, but only in Dutch. The entry begins: "Merck toch hoe sterck is een van de bekendste Nederlandse geuzenliederen."

Surely "one of the most famous Dutch Geux songs" is worth reading about in English (hint, hint)? Anyone interested in translating this brief article into English in the Wikipedi?

Do you want to have it translated for yourself (because you are interested) or do you want me to put in Wikipedia? I can even write it in Deutsch for you.

Quoting wouterrr

All of the above. (just kidding)

No, I just thought that it would be nice for Wikipedia to have this article in the English language (but feel free to add German as well if you like). I'm happy to polish up the English if desired.

All the best,

Kevin
