HI,

I've heard that the Working Holiday Visa application from Malaysia has been lifted in Oct 2006. Was just wondering if anyone knows how long is the waiting/processing period if I apply from Malaysia?

Am a little concerned as the passport will need to be in their hands and I've heard that the applications can take up to a year?

I just checked the website of the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. Yes, the WHM visa suspension has been lifted on 16 October 2006.

For Malaysians, all types of visa to the UK (including WHM) must be applied through Visa Facilitation Services (VFS) now.

Some useful links:
- Do I need a visa?
- Guidance - Working Holidaymakers

Must start planning now!

Hi,

I think I can answer your enquiries....coz I HAVE GOT MY VISA!!!!

well, dotn listen to the rumours. you log on the VFS website, download the checklist, prepare all you need, especially like bank statement... to prove you have sufficient moeny to survive....etc....

When you submit, the officer may tell you only 30% applicants get their visa while the rest will be rejected. i hav been told by a ldy officer. once they reject you, your passport will be chop with the sign "REJECTED" or sth which may cause problem when you enter to UK next time. for me, is unfair...but i will never know if i dont try....so just take a try....after submission, please track the progress form website. oh ya, the fee will be RM677 (or RM667) cant remember already.....

then after 2 days, (according to my experience) i noticed i was scheduled for interview next week. then i went through an interview. struggle a bit....but i get my visa at last. the interviewer will let u know on the spot you get or rejected. in the same day, your visa can be collect from VFS.

good luck to all of you.

Wow, glad to know that Malaysians in Malaysia are now able to apply for WHM visa! I'm a Malaysian working in Singapore, applyied for UK WHM visa last week through Singapore VFS because i'm a Singapore PR. The applicaiton process is very smooth as long as you get all the documents listed in VFS website well prepared before you submit to them. It only took them 2 days to paste the WHM visa on my passport! No interview is needed for my case.

I'll be flying to Uk on late April together with my gf, because both of us got the WHM visa! Well i have not planned my travel route yet, and also not sure which city to stay in. I thought Manchester would be good as there's lots of working oppurtunity in big city. Anyone also giong to UK on WHM visa recently? Regardless you're from malaysia or Singapore, i think we can help each others after we landed in UK ... hehe :)

hi, glad everyone is so interested in WHM visa..i have got mine too!!! thank GOD my application went so smooth..it just took me 2 days to get the Visa, and no interview is needed!...yuhuu! you may get the latest form from the VFS which i did so and go though it on the spot and shall you need any clarification, just ask the officer there, although they look very serious but they are quite friendly.. then only fill in in details and provide all your documents as required and submit. give as much info as possible especially your financial documents..cos all they want is you can support yourself in UK, the rest is your property or any asset like car or house etc (if you have)..my bf is also applying it too..wish him luck and everybody else...cheers!!
