hi, so just to update and answer sampath's questions.

sadly, my application was turned down after the interview. They said that since i hv not been working for more than half a year, and have no commitments in malaysia, they think i am too 'flexible' and will not return to malaysia after the two year period (even though they think i m a genuine whm). but of coz i have 28 days to appeal....

questions they asked:
1. are u feeling well for the interview? :)
2. who filled the application form and are the info given true?
3. any documents u would like to give me?
4. when did u stop working and what hv u been doing since then?
5. what do u plan to do when u get there?
6. are u satisfied with the way the interview is being done?
7. any other info u would like to tell before i assess the application?
8. are u still feeling well?

i had an invitation letter from my sis staying thr and i submitted the tenancy agreement. However, the ECO informed me that the agreement does not state that i could stay thr, coz that can only be allowed by the landlord himself. my sis was renting from the landlord. and i also failed to provide the immigration status of my sis, i.e a copy of her passport and visa. so, i personally think that just writing a hostel or hotel name for accomodation is much less work than asking for invitation letter.

as my case is a bit 'special', generally i think that anyone going for the interview should not worry much and the chances of getting approved are high. like what other TPers mentioned, just be honest, be enthusiastic and REMEMBER ur travel plans! the ECO i met was nice. Clothing is not a big issue. Jeans, t-shirt and shoes would be okay ord but of coz hv to be neat and presentable larr..

those who got approved that day had to wait till the next day to get their documents back from vfs and as for those who got rejected, like urs truly, we got our documents back on the spot.

good luck to everyone! and congrats to those who got it ord..

Hi,

I am sorry to see this message, anyhow you have 28 days to appeal, appleal it and prepair better travel plan this time, definitely you will get it. All the best.

Hi all,

I found this forum not long ago, I have been reading the previous post. It's very helpful for me who are just started to find out the procedure to apply for WHM visa.

I've been seeing ppl listing COVER LETTER and SPONSOR LETTER, can I know where can I get the sample of these letters?

I'm planning to apply in Sept and travelling in Dec ;) anybody is going there the same timing?

Thanks

It may be worth searching on the web I would suggest. Search for travel plan, budget plan etc which might be helpful in your application. You dont have to follow exactly what other people do (It's their way of making their application more convincing). Follow instruction in VFS about what they want. You wont need a sponsor letter if you are self sponsored. Cover letter can be written in the form provided. There is a section for it if I am not wrong.
During my application (erm.. half year ago), I provided 4 printed documents, namely Travel Plan, Budget Plan, Accomodation List, My Checklist(list not in VFS checklist). Dont ask for samples, they are nothing but only a PLAN, but they are highly strong supporting documents(for me).

Hi Jian, I've recently submitted my application and here's a tip for u whilst preparing your travel plans:
- Only write your travel plans within UK. Do NOT mention about traveling outside the UK (eg. Europe). ;)

Also, during my submission, they asked for my EPF statement (which i didn't bring). Not sure if it's important but since I'll be going for an interview on the 30th July, i'll be bringing it along. :)
