With job hunting, what's your background and your'e skills? do you have the basics admin skills and experience? perhaps this is something that you may like to consider as adminstrators/office assistants are pretty much sought after, ...
have you had any interviews so far? I'm in HR and the job market is pretty good in my field so I was fortunate to find work pretty much straightway and the pound is working in my favour!

another tip is to cater your resume to the London one - roughly 2-3 pages...

Good luck in your job hunting and I'm sure something will come around soon! Hang in there..

from my hostelmates and my own experiences, job searching in certain field ae a bit more difficult..i.e. it, banking... manual/;physical job like waitress or part time cleaner is a good option while waiting for the 'real' job.
i had done dropping promotion flyers and my housemates even do sticking notice on refuse bins while the 'real' job came. it helps a lot if u r paying rent, makan and travel around...
when interview for restaurant job like mcdonalds...never say u r not experience, never also say its for temporary though bluffing is not good...thru my conversation with some friends...in london there's very few ppl are working as 'permanent' one...unless big big position la...so don't worry. job functions are also very specific one...so if u think u can do it then you can say u got some other related experience...if going to restaurant then say u got expereince in mc d back home and if going to mcd say u got experience at restaurant back home...ha ha
not to say bluff but have to be a bit smart

good luck

They want to see that you have at least an equivalent of £2000 (minimum) in the local currency, be it his money or the sponsor's. In my opinion, if the father's bank account has a consistent minimum balance of the required amount, it shouldn't matter much that large chunks of money goes in and out.

[/quote]

the thing is, his dad splits his income in 2 accounts. but the Singapore one, he only gets 4000 SGD(£1540)..but his pay is over 6000 SGD (£2300). So even tho his income is enough, the minimum amount isnt going to his account. He will not be able to provie his other bank statments as they are overseas. He can only use the Singapore one.

Therefore, I was thinking to use the bank statments in addition to his play slip which is 6000 SGD (£2300).

What do you think ? is this very risky?

please let me know!
thank u!! so much!

also, my bf has no other sponsor.. only his dad that gets 4000 SGD put into his account every month..

he has no other sponsor to back him up

although I am a student in London and my parents send me money. I dont have a job or anything. but could i use those bank statements to BACK UP sponsor him because i do have about 2000 pounds in it!

please help! thank u

Hi Taigra & Soph888

Thanks a lot for the sharing.
I'm from Accounting/Finance background, but not qualified accountant. I only have degree.
I have been HR & Admin Executive before in Malaysia & my recent past 4 years have been in MNC Accounting/Finance field. We did apply position like accounts assistant/clerk, even administrator or HR, just seems to be no good news thus far.
Received calls from job agent, just to ask for further information eg. any UK experience? Status of your visa. After that, no news :(
Actually attended 1 interview & after email follow up, the CEO said there are position for both of us if we are ok with salary, which is 50% of our expected. & of course we quickly ok on it.
And since then, no email reply on when we can meet up with him again. Will email him again next Mon.
How can we find those part time job like dropping promotion flyers, sticking notice etc? Any specific job agent deal with that or website that we can find it? Or need to go around to look for it?
This morning called an agent for cleaner job, and he said no job at this moment until mid Aug.
I guess is easier to get part time job in London compared to Sheffield this small city.

seriously, this is not a good idea. you are not working, so you should not sponsor ur bf. though u have money sent to you. current financial situation of his dad and himself should be ok. If he has an overseas bank, can either use bankbook or request a statement. perhaps he can download bankstatement himself.

Hi,
When there is a large sum transfered to a bank account via cash, how do you show the source for that?
for people that dont really store all their money in banks..

there was a large sum transfered into an account to pay college fees but through cash.. this seems to look bad but its all legit..

please do advice. its a tricky one

thanks!
