hi sadjordon, first of all congrats u got the visa.. actually i asked about your query. Hien had reply that "You have 3 months from the date of the issuance of visa to leave for the UK". what i suggest is better to ask the officer to confirm.. please update me if you got the answer..by the way, i've not yet apply the visa, will do it on july... still have some time to prepare.. hehe.. enjoy your trip yahh...

hi sadjordon,

i just found this in britishhighcommission.gov.uk:

"it is valid for the date on which you want to travel to the UK. (You can ask for your visa to be post-dated for up to three months if you do not want to travel immediately.)"

i couldn't find the statement that state should leave for Uk within 90 days...

I'm pretty sure the british dude told me that i can leave ANYTIME within the specified two years...

say your visa validity is from 21/6/07 till 21/6/09, irregardless of when you depart, you will have to leave UK by 21/6/09, no exception...personally i dont see any issues in that, two years is a long time, you know...

marc.

hello,

i've went into some websites where they provide some information on living cost in uk and at the same time i managed to get some from a friend who's living there. she estimated cost per month be around 800-1000 pauns (stay, food, transport).

i'm still doing some resourcing around from every angle. i might bring 200-250 pauns for my first week, forget about travellers cheque as i'm taking an advice from a money changer officer it wouldn't be advisable unless if we're talking about 1500-3000 pauns worth of travellers cheque. or would anyone have a different say?

the rest of the cash, i'm just going to withdraw using my atm maybank card once i've activated it through the bank. credit card is a must for me just gonna use it in the event of accidents and emergency.

i'm also planning to take a copy of my insurance policy, latest bank statement with me should i be question by the uk immigration. my friend who's been on this programme (5 years ago) suggested this though she was not ask to produce these documents. all these sourcing and planning could sometimes drive me nuts but it'd be nothing compare to the experiences that i'd be embracing!

One of my friend suggest that you could actually show your house SPA, he said that would be a good proof to the officer that you are not planning to "plane jumping"~
I am now preparing for my application also, scared~
and some said if we provide our academy cert will help too~ is that right?

Hien,
is it a must to leave for the UK 3 months from the date of the issuance of visa? do they state in the passport? i have another question regarding the financial evidence, shall i show them all my car loan, house loan statement? i bought some share, shall i also show them my share statement? because i used the money (5K) to buy the share and my bank acc only left around 6K, can this prove that i have the ability to support myself in UK for the first 2 month? i still need to pay loan every month.. will because of this, they will reject me to get the WHM visa?

how are we suppose to write our travel plan? is it neccesary that it is very detail, i mean i not sure where i want to go in 2 years, but will start from London, if my financial allowed, will go to more place~
Any sample travel plan for reference~?

I am I am, but i hasn't apply for my visa, now preparing....
I heard that room rental in London cost about 250-350 pound per month, go to get a restaurant job and they provide meals for you~ and if you are lucky, some chinese restaurant provide place for thier staff to stay too~but transportation there is abit expensive, to save on that, you should booked yr train ticket a month in advance, for example from Nottingham to London ticket cost 50+GBP, but if you book in advance only cost 26GBP

i heard that manchester's rental is more expensive than London~
